cooked up a great, "PR-ready" club promotion and food donation
program launching in 2009 -- first in South Florida, then across the
nation!
We call it
"WILL JOKE FOR FOOD!" and it goes like this: participating
COMEDY CLUBS hold "WILL JOKE FOR FOOD!" nights once a
month or more, enthusiastic patrons bring CANNED GOODS or
other nonperishable food items in exchange for a couple bucks off
the admission, and the FOOD ITEMS are collected at the door
by a registered local HUNGER CHARITY! (Of course, the clubs
can also contribute monetary donations.)
It's a great way
to HELP THE HUNGRY, while promoting attendance at local
COMEDY CLUBS and adding PR for the featured COMEDIANS,
publicized through the local NEWS and ENTERTAINMENT MEDIA,
who get a powerful human interest story with an entertainment angle!
It's not just
another ho-hum event! It's real news when volunteers and staff from
a local HUNGER CHARITY (and maybe even the featured
COMEDIANS themselves!) are out there holding up "WILL JOKE
FOR FOOD .com" signs at highly visible
city locations to get publicity and promote the EVENT! It's
follow-up news when the charity collects its much-needed donations
right there at the COMEDY CLUB door! And it's news each and
every time an event is scheduled and held!
WILLJOKEFORFOOD.com, the official program website, will maximize
online PR effectiveness by showcasing all upcoming "WILL JOKE FOR
FOOD!" EVENTS (cities, dates, donations raised from past
events), the COMEDY CLUBS (locations, ticket info, links &
more), the COMEDIANS (preview clips, links & more), and the
recipient HUNGER CHARITIES (locations, services, links to
their websites for direct contributions & more)!
